Chelsey Ziegler is currently an Associate General Counsel at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, where she works primarily with the Foundation’s Climate Solutions and Journalism and Media grant making programs. Within the Foundation’s impact investment portfolio, Chelsey oversees legal for the Benefit Chicago Fund and works with the impact investment team to structure charitable investments.
Prior to MacArthur, Chelsey was part of the Business and Finance group at the Chicago-based law firm, Horwood, Marcus & Berk where she advised private equity and venture capital funds as well as start-up companies on venture capital financings, debt financing and other corporate matters. While there, she was also helped grow the Firm’s Social Impact and Philanthropy Subgroup. In addition, Chelsey is the co-founder of Rooted Beings, which is nature-based Meditation Collective & Community.
Chelsey holds a JD from University of Miami School of Law and a BA in Finance from Michigan State University.
